Developed countries must take the lead in reducing greenhouse gas emissions by meeting the 2008-2013 targets under the Kyoto Protocol and helping developing countries reduce their own emissions and adapt to climate change. To achieve the ultimate objective of the Convention, however, broad and balanced participation and action were needed beyond 2012.
9 - ومضى قائلا إن البلدان المتقدمة يجب أن تقوم بدور القيادة في تخفيض انبعاثات غازات الدفيئة بأن تفي بالأهداف المحددة للفترة 2008-2013 بموجب بروتوكول كيوتو وأن تساعد البلدان النامية على تخفيض انبعاثاتها والتكيُّف مع تغيُّر المناخ، ولو أن تحقيق الهدف النهائي للاتفاقية يتطلب مشاركة واسعة ومتوازنة وأعمالاً متضافرة إلى ما بعد عام 2012.

15.1 The shared vision is a comprehensive global approach to enhance the full, effective and sustained implementation of the Convention through long-term cooperative action now, up to and beyond 2012 and address all implementation gaps, in order to achieve the ultimate objective of the Convention contained in its Article 2, pursued in accordance with, and guided by, the provisions and principles of the Convention.
15-1 الرؤية المشتركة هي نهج عالمي شامل يرمي إلى تحسين التنفيذ التام والفعال والمستدام للاتفاقية عن طريق عمل تعاوني طويل الأجل من الآن وحتى عام 2012 وما بعده، وإلى معالجة جميع ثغرات التنفيذ، بقصد تحقيق الهدف النهائي للاتفاقية المنصوص عليه في المادة 2 منها، على نحو يتفق وأحكام الاتفاقية ومبادئها ويسترشد بها.
