The specialized unit dealing with technical assistance and coordination placed particular emphasis on promoting adoption and use of the most recent texts of the United Nations Commission on International Trade (UNCITRAL), which has resulted in improved response on those texts from recipient States.

Of particular importance in this regard are activities geared towards strengthening the capacity of member States in the adoption and use of appropriate tools and instruments for monitoring progress towards the goal of gender equality set in the global and regional platforms for action, and for mainstreaming gender into national planning instruments.
