The Committee noted with satisfaction that the Third African Leadership Conference on Space Science and Technology for Sustainable Development had been held in Algiers from 30 November to 2 December 2009, under the patronage of the President of Algeria.
34- ولاحظت اللجنة بارتياح أن مؤتمر القيادات الأفريقية الثالث بشأن تسخير علوم وتكنولوجيا الفضاء لأغراض التنمية المستدامة، قد عُقد في الجزائر العاصمة، من 30 تشرين الثاني/نوفمبر إلى 2 كانون الأول/ديسمبر 2009، تحت رعاية رئيس الجزائر.

The Office for Outer Space Affairs organized special sessions on space law as part of the Fourth African Leadership Conference on Space Science and Technology for Sustainable Development (see paragraph 41 below).

45- ولاحظت اللجنة بعين التقدير أنَّ مؤتمر القيادات الأفريقية الخامس المعني بتسخير علوم وتكنولوجيا الفضاء لأغراض التنمية المستدامة سوف تستضيفه غانا وسوف يُعقد في أكرا، في كانون الأول/ديسمبر 2013.

The Subcommittee noted that the Second African Leadership Conference on Space Science and Technology for Sustainable Development, with the theme " Building African partnerships in space " had been held in Pretoria from 2 to 5 October 2007.

In that regard, the Working Group encouraged the Action Team to provide information on its activities at the Third African Leadership Conference on Space Science and Technology for Sustainable Development, to be held in Algeria in 2009, in order to benefit from African contributions to raising awareness, both within the region and globally, of the threats posed by near-Earth objects.
