In the revision, the principle of formal equality and the recognition of the situation of discrimination of women were maintained, specifying that " it is the task of the State to progressively remove economic, social, cultural and political barriers that prevent the real equality of opportunity among citizens, especially the factors of discrimination against women within the family and in society " (article 7).
