6. Paragraph 5 of the resolution states that the Member States shall not recognize as lawful the situation resulting from the occupation of the territories of the Republic of Azerbaijan, nor render aid or assistance in maintaining this situation.

As stated in the Articles on Responsibility of States for Internationally Wrongful Acts, " No State shall recognize as lawful a situation created by a serious breach [of obligations under peremptory norms of general international law] ..., nor render aid or assistance in maintaining that situation. "

Attention was particularly called to the obligation of States not to render aid or assistance in maintaining the situation created by such construction.
