Sayed Alawi Sayed Mohsen Sayed Neamah Al-Alawi was arrested on 21 August 1993 in connection with his role as a leader of the religious centre Maatem Al-Qasab, which had been closed by the authorities.

Sayed Alawi Sayed Mohsen Sayed Neamah Al-Alawi was held in ordinary police custody throughout the period of his arrest until his release; there was no evidence that he had been mistreated or subjected to any form of torture and he had not been transferred to any hospital nor was he in need of hospitalization.
أما سيد علوي سيد محسن سيد نعمة العلوي فقد كان تحت تحفظ الشرطة العادي طوال الفترة التي كان مقبوضا عليه فيها إلى أن أفرج عنه؛ وليس هناك ما يدل على أنه أسيئت معاملته أو انه تعرض ﻷي شكل من أشكال التعذيب كما أنه لم ينقل إلى اي مستشفى ولا كان بحاجة إلى دخول مستشفى.

60. Mr. Al-Alawi (Oman) said that his delegation supported the statement made by Lebanon on behalf of the Group of Arab States and shared the position expressed by Guyana on behalf of the Group of 77 and China.
60 - السيد العلوي (عمان): قال إن وفده يؤيد ما صرح به وفد لبنان نيابة عن مجموعة الدول العربية، ويشاطر الموقف الذي اتخذته غيانا نيابة عن مجموعة الـ 77 والصين.

30. Mr. Al-Alawi (Oman) said that only concerted efforts by the developed and developing countries would resolve the complex and interrelated environmental problems suffered by the latter.
30 - السيد العلوي (عُمان) قال إن الجهود المتناسقة المبذولة من جانب البلدان المتقدمة والنامية هي وحدها التي تستطيع أن تحل المشاكل البيئية المعقدة والمتشابكة التي تُعاني منها بلدان الفئة الأخيرة.

4. Mr. Al-Alawi (Oman) expressed appreciation to the Commissioner-General for his exhaustive report (A/54/13) and his statement in the Committee and said that his delegation was concerned about the adverse situation of the Palestinian refugees in the occupied Arab territories.
4 - السيد العلوي (عُمان): أعرب عن تقديره للتقرير الوافي المقدم من المفوض العام للأونروا (A/54/13) وللبيان الذي أدلى به أمام اللجنة، وقال إن وفده منشغل إزاء الوضع السيئ للاجئين الفلسطينيين في الأراضي العربية المحتلة.

39. Mr. Al-Alawi (Bahrain) said that, in line with its practice of working systematically in partnership with United Nations bodies and institutions for the achievement of comprehensive social, economic and cultural development, his country had launched the Shaikh Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa Habitat Award with the aim of promoting initiatives and innovative solutions for sustainable development.
39 - السيد العلوي (البحرين): قال إنه تمشياً مع ممارسة العمل بصورة منهجية في شراكة مع هيئات ومؤسسات الأمم المتحدة لتحقيق التنمية الاجتماعية والاقتصادية والثقافية الشاملة، أعلن بلده عن جائزة الشيخ خليفة بن سلمان آل خليفة الخاصة بالموئل بهدف تشجيع المبادرات والحلول المبتكرة للتنمية المستدامة.
