The meeting was opened at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, 22 October 2013, by the Chair of the Committee, Ms. Hala Sultan Saif Al-Easa (Qatar).

The Chair of the Persistent Organic Pollutants Review Committee, Mr. Reiner Arndt (Germany), and the Chair of the Chemical Review Committee, Ms. Hala Sultan Saif Al-Easa (Qatar) prepared a draft on possible cooperation between the two committees.

14. Ms. Al-Easa (Qatar) said that Qatar's efforts to implement the Convention included the enactment of a law on the rights of persons with disabilities and a mechanism to monitor its implementation.

The Chair of the Chemical Review Committee, Ms. Hala Sultan Saif Al-Easa (Qatar), and the Chair of the Persistent Organic Pollutants Review Committee of the Stockholm Convention on Persistent Organic Pollutants, Mr. Reiner Arndt (Germany), prepared a draft text on possible cooperation between the two committees, which has been reviewed by the members of the committees and revised by the chairs on the basis of the comments received.
