فعلى مدى السنين، ظهرت في عبارات المجتمع الدولي كلمات جديدة، مثل النكبة والانتفاضة، تثير صور الخسارة والمجابهة.

This week the Palestinian people marked the passage of yet another year since Al-Nakba.

In that connection, he noted that the will of the Palestinian people remained unbroken, notwithstanding the 60 years of arbitrary Israeli practices to which they had been subjected since Al-Nakba.

Yesterday, Thursday, 15 May, marked the fifty-fifth anniversary of Al-Nakba -- the day the Palestinian people were uprooted from their homeland in 1948 amidst massacres, destruction and the devastation of war.
وتزامن يوم أمس الخميس 15 أيار/مايو مع الذكرى الخامسة والخمسين ليوم النكبة وهو اليوم الذي جرى فيه اقتلاع أفراد الشعب الفلسطيني من ديارهم في عام 1948 وسط المذابح والتدمير ودمار الحرب.

Our goal remains the achievement of the independence of the State of Palestine on the Palestinian Territory occupied since 1967, with East Jerusalem as its capital, and a just solution for the plight of the Palestine refugees that will bring an end to the tragedy and injustice inflicted on them over 62 years ago in Al-Nakba.
ويظل هدفنا هو إقامة دولة فلسطين المستقلة وعاصمتها القدس الشرقية على الأرض الفلسطينية المحتلة منذ عام 1967، وإيجاد حل عادل لمحنة اللاجئين الفلسطينيين، يضع حدا لمأساتهم والظلم الواقع عليهم منذ أكثر من 62 عاما، وهو عمر النكبة.

The General Assembly may rest assured that such support for our people is more valuable to them than anyone can imagine, for it makes them feel that someone is listening to their narrative and that their tragedy, the horrors of Al-Nakba and the occupation, under which they have suffered terribly, are not being ignored. It reinforces their hope and belief that justice is possible in this world.
وثقوا بأن هذه المواقف المساندة ثمينة لنا بأكثر مما تتخيلون، كونها تشعره تشعر شعبنا بأن هناك من يصغى إلى روايته ولا يحاول تجاهل أو إنكار مأساته وفظائع النكبة والاحتلال التي عاناها، وكونها تشحنه بالأمل النابع من الإيمان بأنه لا تزال هناك عدالة ممكنة في هذا العالم.

Several Palestinians were injured by Israel's use of rubber bullets, tear gas and sound bombs in various cities, including in East Jerusalem, Al-Khalil and Ramallah, as well as in Bethlehem, on 14 May, during a rally marking the anniversary of Al-Nakba near the Dheisheh refugee camp.
وقد أُصيب العديد من الفلسطينيين من جراء استخدام إسرائيل للرصاص المطاطي، والغاز المسيل للدموع، وقنابل الصوت في مدن شتى، بما فيها القدس الشرقية والخليل ورام الله، وكذلك في بيت لحم، يوم 14 أيار/مايو، أثناء تجمُّع بمناسبة ذكرى النكبة بالقرب من مخيم الدهيشة للاجئين.

This campaign recently culminated in massive demonstrations, organized by the Palestinian Authority, that were intended to commemorate the fiftieth anniversary of what the PLO calls " Al-Nakba " , which is Arabic for " the catastrophe " , referring to the creation of the State of Israel.

" This year the Palestinian people marked the passage of 60 years since Al-Nakba -- the catastrophic tragedy that befell Palestine in 1948, whereby the Palestinian people lost their homeland, the majority of them were forcibly expelled or fled from their homes in fear, and an entire nation became refugees and a stateless people whose plight continues until this day.

Tragically, Al-Nakba continues as the Palestinian people continue to either live in exile as refugees, denied the inalienable right to return to their homes to live at peace with their neighbours, or continue to live under the belligerent military occupation of Israel, the occupying Power, in the Palestinian Territory, including East Jerusalem, forced to endure the constant violation of their fundamental human rights.

Throughout the many months of this ongoing conflict, the Palestine refugees in Syria, who for more than 60 years since the 1948 Al-Nakba have found refuge, shelter and stability in the country as they have awaited a just solution to their plight, have sought to stay out of the conflict and to remain neutral.

In this regard, the Ministers called upon all Members of the Movement to solemnly commemorate the 60th anniversary of the Palestinian Al-Nakba this year and to reaffirm their solidarity with the Palestinian people on this occasion and redouble their collective efforts for the just and peaceful resolution of the question of Palestine in all its aspects.
وفي هذا الخصوص، دعا الوزراء جميع أعضاء الحركة إلى إحياء ذكرى مرور ستين عاما على نكبة فلسطين بصفة رسمية هذا العام، وإلى التأكيد مجددا على تضامنهم مع الشعب الفلسطيني في هذه المناسبة، ومضاعفة جهودهم الجماعية من أجل التوصل إلى تسوية عادلة وسلمية لقضية فلسطين من جميع جوانبها.

To this day, the Palestinian people continue to suffer the consequences of the 1948 Al-Nakba, in which they were uprooted and dispersed from their homeland, with more than half of the Palestinian population, now approximately 4.8 million people, continuing to live as refugees, the majority still in camps established to shelter them more than 60 years ago.
