3. Ms. Al-Temimi (Qatar) said that her delegation supported the resolution, but had reservations regarding paragraph 47 (l) (new paragraph 48 (l)), which referred to evidence-based education programmes on human sexuality for adolescents and youth.

85. Ms. Al-Temimi (Qatar), speaking also on behalf of Kuwait, Oman and Saudi Arabia, said that they had voted against the draft resolution based on the conviction that the issue of the death penalty was first and foremost a criminal justice matter that was linked to the criminal legislation of States.
٨٥ - السيدة التميمي (قطر): تكلمت أيضا باسم عمان والكويت والمملكة العربية السعودية، فقالت إن هذه الدول قد صوتت ضد مشروع القرار بناء على اقتناعها بأن مسألة عقوبة الإعدام هي أولا وقبل كل شيء مسألة عدالة جنائية مرتبطة بالتشريع الجنائي للدول.

12. Ms. Al-Temimi (Qatar) said that her Government had taken active steps to promote human rights; it had acceded to the Convention against Torture and Other Cruel, Inhuman or Degrading Treatment or Punishment and had signed a number of other regional and international agreements on human rights.
12 - الآنسة التميمي (قطر): قالت إن حكومتها قد خطت خطوات حثيثة في تعزيز حقوق الإنسان، حيث صادقت على اتفاقية مناهضة التعذيب وغيره من ضروب المعاملة أو العقوبة القاسية أو اللاإنسانية أو المهينة كما انضمت إلى العديد من الاتفاقيات الإقليمية والدولية المتعلقة بحقوق الإنسان.

21. Ms. Al-Temimi (Qatar), speaking in exercise of the right of reply, said that the false allegations made by the Syrian delegation were an attempt to distract the Committee's attention away from the fact that, as indicated in United Nations reports, the Syrian regime was perpetrating horrific violations against its own people.
