If, owing to accident, distress, emergency or unintended landing, the personnel of a spacecraft land in territory under the jurisdiction of a Contracting Party, it shall immediately take all possible steps to rescue them and render them all necessary assistance. It shall inform the launching authority and also the Secretary-General of the United Nations of the steps it is taking and of their progress.
يلتزم كل طرف متعاقد يهبط في إقليم داخل في ولايته أفراد طاقم أيَّةِ سفينة فضائية بسبب حادث أو محنة أو هبوط اضطراري أو غير مقصود، القيام فورا باتخاذ جميع التدابير الممكنة لإنقاذهم وتزويدهم بكل مساعدة لازمة ويقوم بإعلام السلطة المطلقة، وكذلك الأمين العام للأمم المتحدة، بالتدابير التي يتخذها وبالتقدم المحرز فيها.

2. Encourages contributions to the United Nations Trust Fund for Improving Preparedness for Conflict Prevention and Peacekeeping in Africa and to the OAU Peace Fund and encourages also the Secretary-General to develop a strategy for the purpose of enhancing contributions to the Trust Fund;

16. Requests also the Secretary-General to ensure the active involvement of the organizations of the United Nations system in the preparatory process for the Conference in a coordinated and coherent manner, inter alia, by making use of the existing coordination mechanisms of the United Nations system;

22. Requests also the Secretary-General to minimize the cost of the United Nations activities associated with the implementation of resolution 986 (1995) as well as the cost of the independent inspection agents and the certified public accountants appointed by him, in accordance with paragraphs 6 and 7 of resolution 986 (1995);
