I should like to point out that, in the preambular part of our draft resolution, we recall two fundamental premises: first, that disarmament and nuclear nonproliferation are mutually reinforcing, and secondly, that nuclear-weapon States made an unequivocal undertaking to accomplish the total elimination of their nuclear arsenals, in accordance with article VI of the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons (NPT).
