2. The Advisory Committee's general report on the administrative and budgetary aspects of the financing of the United Nations peacekeeping operations (A/58/759) contains its views and recommendations on a number of cross-cutting issues.

The Financial Regulations had increased in number, mainly because of the inclusion of new Regulations to cover peacekeeping operations, one of the fundamental principles of General Assembly resolution 49/233 on the administrative and budgetary aspects of the financing of peacekeeping operations.
