ويعرض هذا التقرير فحصاً أولياً للموضوع ويوصي بالاضطلاع بدراسة أكثر تفصيلاً وإحالتها إلى لجنة منع الجريمة والعدالة الجنائية في دورتها الحادية عشرة لكي تنظر فيها بصفتها مسألة عالية الأولوية.

8. Requests the Secretary-General to ensure the proper follow-up to the present resolution and to report thereon to the General Assembly, through the Commission on Crime Prevention and Criminal Justice at its eleventh session.
8 - تطلب إلى الأمين العام أن يكفل المتابعة المناسبة لهذا القرار، وأن يقدم إلى الجمعية العامة تقريرا بهذا الشأن عن طريق لجنة منع الجريمة والعدالة الجنائية في دورتها الحادية عشرة.

The Assembly also requested the Secretary-General to report on the implementation of the resolution to the Commission on Crime Prevention and Criminal Justice at its eleventh session.

The Economic and Social Council decides to endorse the appointment, by the Commission on Crime Prevention and Criminal Justice at its eleventh session, of Iskander Ghattas and Željko Horvatić to the Board of Trustees of the United Nations Interregional Crime and Justice Research Institute.

45. It is therefore recommended that the Centre for International Crime Prevention of the Office for Drug Control and Crime Prevention of the Secretariat be directed to conduct a more detailed study of the problem, for submission to the Commission on Crime Prevention and Criminal Justice at its eleventh session.

That study, together with the recommendation of the expert group, was submitted to the Commission on Crime Prevention and Criminal Justice at its eleventh session (E/CN.15/2002/9 and Add.1).

9. The mandates of the Centre for International Crime Prevention relating to the prevention and combating of terrorism were stressed, particularly in the light of General Assembly resolutions 56/123 of 19 December 2001, 56/253 of 24 December 2001 and 56/261 of 31 January 2002, as well as resolution 11/1 and draft resolution VIII adopted by the Commission on Crime Prevention and Criminal Justice at its eleventh session.

15. The Commission on Crime Prevention and Criminal Justice, at its eleventh session, noted the adverse environmental, economic, social and scientific impact of transnational organized criminal activities related to illicit trafficking in protected species of wild flora and fauna and of the consequences of access to genetic resources on other than mutually agreed terms.
15 - ولاحظت لجنة منع الجريمة والعدالة الجنائية في دورتها الحادية عشرة التأثير البيئي والاقتصادي والاجتماعي والعلمي الضار المترتب على الأنشطة الإجرامية المنظمة عبر الوطنية المكرسة للاتجار غير المشروع بأنواع النباتات والحيوانات البرية الخاضعة للحماية، وعواقب الوصول غير المشروع إلى الموارد الجينية بشروط أخرى غير المتفق عليها على نحو متبادل.

Noting also that the Secretary-General submitted to the Commission on Crime Prevention and Criminal Justice at its eleventh session a report on effective measures to prevent and control computer-related crime, in which he recognized the use of online pharmacies to procure internationally controlled licit drugs without medical supervision as an emerging problem for law enforcement, regulatory and health authorities,
وإذ يلاحظ أيضا أن الأمين العام قدَّم إلى لجنة منع الجريمة والعدالة الجنائية في دورتها الحادية عشرة تقريرا عن التدابير الفعالة لمنع ومكافحة الجرائم ذات الصلة بالحاسوب، سلّم فيه بأن استعمال الصيدليات المتاحة على خط الحاسوب لاشتراء عقاقير مشروعة خاضعة للمراقبة الدولية دون إشراف طبي يمثّل مشكلة ناشئة لسلطات إنفاذ القوانين والسلطات الرقابية والصحية()،

33. As noted in the report of the Secretary-General to the Commission on Crime Prevention and Criminal Justice at its eleventh session (E/CN.15/2002/7), in the absence of an exhaustive and reliable register of trafficking in wildlife, together with indicators of the number of undetected cases, an assessment of the scope and nature of the problem of illicit trafficking in protected species becomes difficult.
33- مثلما هو مشار اليه في تقرير الأمين العام إلى لجنة منع الجريمة والعدالة الجنائية في دورتها الحادية عشرة (E/CN.15/2002/7)، فان من الصعب تقدير نطاق وطبيعة مشكلة الاتجار غير المشروع بأنواع النباتات والحيوانات البرية الخاضعة للحماية بسبب عدم وجود سجل شامل وموثوق بشأن الاتجار بتلك الكائنات البرية، اضافة إلى المؤشرات التي تدل على وجود عدد من الحالات التي لم يُكشف عنها.
