The Commission could further emphasize the need to improve the sustainable use and management of living marine resources, especially through intergovernmental regional fisheries organizations, and the importance of these organizations applying the principles contained in the compliance agreement and the United Nations fish stocks agreement, the code of conduct for responsible fisheries and the FAO international plans of action.
