On the latter issue, the Executive Director emphasized the problem of underreporting and underlined its impact on the way that the Conference fulfilled its mandate to facilitate the exchange of information on patterns and trends in transnational organized crime and on successful practices for combating such crime.

Under article 32 of the Convention, the Conference is mandated to facilitate the exchange of information among States parties on patterns and trends in transnational organized crime and on successful practices for combating such crime.
48- بموجب المادة 32 من الاتفاقية، كُلّف المؤتمر بتيسير تبادل المعلومات بين الدول الأطراف عن أنماط واتجاهات الجريمة المنظمة عبر الوطنية، وعن الممارسات الناجحة في مكافحتها.

In that context, the Congress could function in a consultative capacity to the Conference of the Parties, especially in the areas of technical cooperation, the exchange of information on patterns and trends in transnational organized crime and on successful practices for combating it, as well as the promotion of cooperation with relevant international and non-governmental organizations.

In accordance with articles 32, paragraph 3 (b), and 28 of the Convention, the Conference of the Parties shall agree upon mechanisms for facilitating the exchange of information among States parties on patterns and trends in transnational organized crime and on successful practices for combating it, as well as consider ways to promote the collection, exchange and analysis of information on the nature of organized crime.
وتقضي الفقرة 3 (ب) من المادة 32 والمادة 28 من الاتفاقية بأن يتفق مؤتمر الأطراف على آليات لتيسير تبادل المعلومات بين الدول الأطراف عن أنماط الجريمة المنظمة واتجاهاتها وعن الممارسات الناجحة في مكافحتها، وكذلك بأن ينظر في سبل لتعزيز جمع وتبادل وتحليل المعلومات المتعلقة بطبيعة الجريمة المنظمة.

4. These objectives include, under article 63, paragraph 4 of the Convention, facilitating the exchange of information among States parties on patterns and trends in corruption and on successful practices for preventing and combating corruption, reviewing periodically the Convention's implementation and making recommendations to improve the Convention and its implementation.
4- وتشمل هذه الأهداف، حسبما يرد في الفقرة (4) من المادة 63 من الاتفاقية، تيسير تبادل المعلومات بين الدول الأطراف عن أنماط واتجاهات الفساد وعن الممارسات الناجحة في منعه ومكافحته واستعراض تنفيذ الاتفاقية دوريا وتقديم توصيات لتحسين الاتفاقية وتحسين تنفيذها.
