2. Pursuant to the request contained in paragraph 4 of the resolution, the Secretary-General, in a note verbale dated 17 March 1995, requested the States of the region and other concerned States to provide their views on the matter.
٢ - وعملا بالطلب الوارد في الفقرة ٤ من القرار، طلب اﻷمين العام، في مذكرة شفوية مؤرخة ١٧ آذار/مارس ١٩٩٥، الى دول المنطقة وغيرها من الدول المعنية أن تقدم آراءها بشأن الموضوع.

2. Pursuant to the request contained in paragraph 4 of the resolution, the Secretary-General, in a note verbale dated 2 March 1994, requested the States of the region and other concerned States to provide their views on the matter by 15 June 1994.
٢ - وعملا بالطلب الــوارد فــي الفقــرة ٤ مـن القـرار، طلب اﻷمين العام، في مذكرة شفوية مؤرخة ٢ آذار/مارس ١٩٩٤، إلى دول المنطقة وغيرها من الدول المعنية أن تقدم آراءها بشأن المسألة في موعد غايته ١٥ حزيران/يونيه ١٩٩٤.

4. Requests the Secretary-General to communicate with the States of the region and other concerned States in order to ascertain their views on the issue and to promote consultations among them with a view to exploring the best possibilities of furthering the efforts for the establishment of a nuclear-weapon-free zone in South Asia;
٤ - تطلب الى اﻷمين العام أن يتصل بدول المنطقة وغيرها من الدول المعنية للتحقق من آرائها بشأن هذه المسألة وأن يشجع إجراء مشاورات فيما بينها بغية استطلاع أفضل اﻹمكانيات لتعزيز الجهود الرامية الى إنشاء منطقة خالية من اﻷسلحة النووية في جنوب آسيا؛

4. Requests the Secretary-General to communicate with the States of the region and other concerned States in order to ascertain their views on the issue and to promote consultations among them with a view to exploring the best possibilities of furthering the efforts for the establishment of a nuclear-weapon-free zone in South Asia;
٤ - تطلب إلى اﻷمين العام أن يتصل بدول المنطقة وغيرها من الدول المعنية للتحقق من آرائها بشأن هذه المسألة وأن يشجع إجراء مشاورات فيما بينها بغية استطلاع أفضل اﻹمكانيات لتعزيز الجهود الرامية إلى إنشاء منطقة خالية من اﻷسلحة النووية في جنوب آسيا؛

3. On 17 January 1996, the Secretary-General addressed a note verbale to the States of the region and other concerned States requesting them to submit their views pursuant to paragraph 10 of the above resolution.
٣ - وفي ١٧ كانون الثاني/يناير ١٩٩٦ وجه اﻷمين العام مذكرة شفوية إلى دول المنطقة والدول اﻷخرى المعنية طلب منها فيها أن تقدم آراءها عملا بالفقرة ١٠ من القرار المذكور أعلاه.

China is in favour of General Assembly resolution 53/74 and supports the Secretary-General in continuing to pursue consultations with the States of the region and other concerned States on the establishment of a nuclear-weapon-free zone in the Middle East.
