1. Approves the Declaration on the Enhancement of Cooperation between the United Nations and Regional Arrangements or Agencies in the Maintenance of International Peace and Security, the text of which is annexed to the present resolution;
١ - توافق على اﻹعلان المتعلق بتعزيز التعاون بين اﻷمم المتحدة والتنظيمات أو الوكالات اﻹقليمية في مجال صون السلم واﻷمن الدوليين، الذي يرفق نصه بهذا القرار؛

He welcomed the contribution of the Special Committee to the elaboration of the Declaration on the Enhancement of Cooperation between the United Nations and Regional Arrangements or Agencies in the Maintenance of International Peace and Security, contained in General Assembly resolution 49/57.
ورحب بمساهمة اللجنة الخاصة في وضع اﻹعلان المتعلق بتعزيز التعاون بين اﻷمم المتحدة والتنظيمات أو الوكالات اﻹقليمية في مجال صون السلم واﻷمن الدوليين الوارد في قرار الجمعية العامة ٤٩/٥٧.

Her delegation was confident that regional arrangements could play a positive role and welcomed the completion of work on the draft Declaration on the Enhancement of Cooperation between the United Nations and Regional Arrangements or Agencies in the Maintenance of International Peace and Security.

١١ - ومضى قائلا إن وفده يرحب بقيام اللجنة الخاصة بوضع مشروع اﻹعلان المتعلق بتعزيز التعاون بين اﻷمم المتحدة والتنظيمات أو الوكالات اﻹقليمية في مجال صون السلم واﻷمن الدوليين في صورته النهائية )A/49/33، الفقرات ٨٣ - ٨٩(.

Mr. MARTENS (Germany), speaking on behalf of the European Union and Austria, expressed the hope that the draft declaration on the enhancement of cooperation between the United Nations and Regional Arrangements or Agencies in the maintenance of international peace and security would be adopted unanimously and emphasized the importance of continued discussion of the subject.

At its forty-ninth session, the General Assembly adopted three instruments of major legal and political importance: the Declaration on the Enhancement of Cooperation between the United Nations and Regional Arrangements or Agencies in the Maintenance of International Peace and Security; the Declaration on Measures to Eliminate International Terrorism; and the Convention on the Safety of United Nations and Associated Personnel.
لقد اعتمدت الجمعية العامة، في دورتها التاسعة واﻷربعين، ثلاثة صكوك ذات أهمية قانونية وسياسية كبرى: اﻹعلان المتعلق بتعزيز التعاون بين اﻷمم المتحدة والتنظيمات أو الوكالات اﻹقليمية في مجال صون السلم واﻷمن الدوليين؛ اﻹعلان المتعلق بالتدابير الرامية إلى القضاء على اﻹرهاب الدولي؛ اتفاقية بشأن سلامة موظفي اﻷمم المتحدة واﻷفراد المرتبطين بها.

In this context, it stresses the importance of the adoption by the General Assembly of the Declaration on the Enhancement of Cooperation between the United Nations and Regional Arrangements or Agencies in the Maintenance of International Peace and Security (see resolution 49/57, annex).

Referring to Security Council resolution 1631 (2005) of 17 October 2005, in which the Council recalled its invitation to regional organizations to improve coordination with the United Nations and the Declaration on the Enhancement of Cooperation between the United Nations and Regional Arrangements or Agencies in the Maintenance of International Peace and Security adopted by the General Assembly on 9 December 1994,
