We believe it essential to adopt resolutions without delay to provide for the protection of the holy places and religious symbols, whatever they may be, while firmly condemning any prejudice or damage that may be done to them.
كما ندعو هذا المحفل الهام إلى اعتماد قرارات من شأنها حماية المقدسات والرموز الدينية على اختلافها، وتجريم النيل أو الإساءة أو التقويض لأي منها.

Some of the laws in question link the protection of places of worship and religious symbols to freedom of religion as essential to the freedom to practice religion.
وتربط بعض هذه القوانين حماية أماكن العبادة والرموز الدينية بحرية الدين لأنها تعتبر تلك الأماكن والرموز ضرورية لحرية ممارسة الدين.

Spreading the culture of tolerance, dialogue and respect for beliefs and religious symbols in all countries has today become one of the urgent necessities for reinforcing rapprochement, understanding and solidarity among peoples and for establishing constructive international relations based on moderation and respect for the specificities and civilizations of peoples and on rejection of violence, extremism and intolerance.

Strongly deplores all acts of psychological and physical violence and assaults, and incitement thereto, against persons on the basis of their religion or belief, and such acts directed against their businesses, properties, cultural centres and places of worship, as well as targeting of holy sites and religious symbols of all religions;
3 - تعرب عن استيائها الشديد إزاء جميع أعمال العنف النفسي والبدني والاعتداءات ضد أشخاص على أساس دينهم أو معتقدهم والتحريض على القيام بها، وإزاء توجيه هذه الأفعال ضد أعمالهم التجارية وممتلكاتهم ومراكزهم الثقافية وأماكن العبادة الخاصة بهم، وكذلك استهداف المواقع المقدسة والرموز الدينية لجميع الأديان؛

9. Deplores the use of the print, audiovisual and electronic media, including the Internet, and any other means to incite acts of violence, xenophobia or related intolerance and discrimination against any religion, as well as the targeting and desecration of holy books, holy sites, places of worship and religious symbols of all religions;

Therefore, today more than ever before, we must further disseminate the culture of tolerance, dialogue and acceptance of the other and respect for cultural differences and religious symbols. We must build constructive relations among States and peoples, based on moderation and the rejection of extremism, violence and fanaticism of any kind.
وباعتباره الأساس الذي يتعين أن تقوم عليه المنظومة الجديدة للعلاقات الدولية، فإنه يستوجب منّا اليوم، وأكثر من أي وقت مضى، العمل على نشر ثقافة التسامح والحوار وقبول الآخر واحترام الخصوصيات الثقافية والرموز الدينية لتأسيس علاقات بنّاءة بين الدول والشعوب تقوم على الوسطية والاعتدال ورفض التطرف والعنف والتعصب بجميع أشكاله.

49. Treaty bodies and special procedures have reported about serious instances of intolerance, discrimination and acts of violence based on religion or belief as described in General Assembly resolution 63/171 as defamation of religions, such as the derogatory stereotyping and stigmatization of persons based on their religion or belief, and the negative projection and targeting of certain religions and religious symbols.
49 - وقد أُبلغت الهيئات المنشأة بموجب معاهدات هيئات الإجراءات الخاصة عن حالات خطيرة للتعصب والتمييز وأعمال العنف تقوم على أساس الدين أو المعتقد على نحو ما وصف في القرار 63/171 بأنه تشويه لصورة الأديان، كالتنميط والوصم المهنيين للأشخاص على أساس دينهم أو معتقدهم والتصوير السلبي لبعض الديانات والرموز الدينية واستهدافها.

In the report submitted in accordance with resolution 63/171 (A/64/209), the Secretary-General noted that treaty bodies and special procedures had reported about serious instances of intolerance, discrimination and acts of violence based on religion or belief, such as the derogatory stereotyping and stigmatization of persons based on their religion or belief, and the negative projection and targeting of certain religions and religious symbols.
6 - وفي التقرير المقدم وفقا للقرار 63/171 (A/64/209)، أشار الأمين العام إلى أن الهيئات المنشأة بموجب معاهدات والإجراءات الخاصة أبلغت عن حالات خطيرة للتعصب والتمييز وأعمال العنف تقوم على أساس الدين أو المعتقد، كالتنميط والوصم المهينين للأشخاص على أساس دينهم أو معتقدهم والتصوير السلبي لبعض الديانات والرموز الدينية واستهدافها.
