26. The United Nations police force contributes to the maintenance and restoration of law and order in the buffer zone and supports the military component and the Civil Affairs Branch in activities related to the return to normal conditions within the buffer zone.
26 - تسهم قوة شرطة الأمم المتحدة في صون واستعادة القانون والنظام في المنطقة العازلة وتدعم العنصر العسكري وفرع الشؤون المدنية في الأنشطة المتصلة بعودة الأوضاع الطبيعية داخل المنطقة العازلة.

7. UNFICYP continued to fulfil its mandate, as set out by the Security Council in its resolution 186 (1964), namely, to use its best efforts to prevent a recurrence of fighting and, as necessary, to contribute to the maintenance and restoration of law and order and the return to normal conditions.
7 - واصلت القوة تنفيذ ولايتها، كما حددها مجلس الأمن في قراره 186 (1964)، أي أن تبذل قصارى جهدها لمنع تجدد القتال والمساهمة، عند الاقتضاء، في صون واستعادة القانون والنظام والعودة إلى الأوضاع الطبيعية.

3. The mandate of UNFICYP is, " in the interest of preserving international peace and security, to use its best efforts to prevent a recurrence of fighting and, as necessary, to contribute to the maintenance and restoration of law and order and a return to normal conditions " (Security Council resolution 186 (1964)).
3 - وتتمثل ولاية قوة الأمم المتحدة في " بذل قصارى جهدها لمنع تجدد القتال، والمساهمة حسب الاقتضاء، في صون واستعادة القانون والنظام وعودة الأوضاع الطبيعية، لما فيه مصلحة الحفاظ على السلم والأمن الدوليين " ، (قرار مجلس الأمن التابع للأمم المتحدة رقم 186 (1964)).

The Security Council, in its resolution 186 (1964) of 4 March 1964 (S/5575), recommended that the United Nations Peace-keeping Force in Cyprus (UNFICYP) be established and that the Force be stationed for a period of three months with a mandate to use its best efforts to prevent a recurrence of fighting, and, as necessary, to contribute to the maintenance and restoration of law and order and a return to normal conditions.
١ - أوصى مجلس اﻷمن، في قراره ١٨٦ )١٩٦٤( المؤرخ ٤ آذار/مارس ١٩٦٤، بإنشاء قوة اﻷمم المتحدة لحفظ السلم في قبرص، وبأن تظل هذه القوة قائمة لمدة ثلاثة أشهر، وأن تتمثل ولايتها في بذل قصاراها من أجل الحيلولة دون نشوب القتال مرة أخرى، مع القيام، عند الاقتضاء، بالمساهمة في صون واستعادة القانون والنظام فضلا عن عودة اﻷحوال الطبيعية.
