The secretariats of the Convention to Combat Desertification and the Convention on Wetlands of International Importance especially as Waterfowl Habitat (more commonly known as the Ramsar Convention)6 have continued to hold periodic consultations with a view to putting into operation their joint memorandum of understanding through collaborative ventures, in particular at the national and local levels.
