The seminar offered an opportunity to address major contemporary challenges to the realization of democracy and the rule of law from the human rights perspective - including the management of internal disorder, emergencies and conflicts; impunity; corruption; and access to justice by the disadvantaged groups - and contributed to the dissemination of the existing expertise in these areas.
