Through its Permanent Observer Mission in Geneva, la Francophonie followed the debates of the fifty-third and fifty-fourth sessions of the Commission on Human Rights and let it be known that it considered the issues of the right to development and the World Conference against Racism, Racial Discrimination, Xenophobia and Related Intolerance scheduled for 2001 to be priority matters.
وجدير بالذكر أن المنظمة الدولية قد تابعت، من خلال بعثتها الدائمة للمراقبة في جنيف، مداولات دورتي لجنة حقوق اﻹنسان الثالثة والخمسين والرابعة والخمسين. وقد أعلنت الجماعة الفرانكوفونية أنها تعتبر الحق في التنمية والمؤتمر العالمي لمكافحة العنصرية المقرر عقده في عام ٢٠٠١ من القضايا ذات اﻷولوية.

Finally, OHCHR could encourage inclusion of the issue of internal displacement into relevant international forums, such as the new permanent forum on indigenous peoples and the World Conference against Racism.

Secondly, the priorities of United Nations information activities must be defined in the light of the issues before the United Nations system as a whole, with special focus on areas such as economic, social and cultural development, poverty eradication, human rights, peacekeeping operations, drug control, the threat of international terrorism and the World Conference against Racism, Racial Discrimination, Xenophobia and Related Intolerance.

The campaign was part of the preparations for the Council of Europe's Conference against Racism, which took place from 11 to 13 October 2000 in Strasbourg, and the World Conference against Racism, Racial Discrimination, Xenophobia and Related Intolerance, held from 31 August to 7 September 2001 in Durban.
وكانت الحملة جزءاً من الإعداد لمؤتمر مكافحة العنصرية الذي نظمه مجلس أوروبا والذي عُقد من 11 إلى 13 تشرين الأول/أكتوبر 2000 في مدينة ستراسبورغ، والمؤتمر العالمي لمكافحة العنصرية والتمييز العنصري وكراهية الأجانب وما يتصل بذلك من تعصب الذي عقد من 31 آب/أغسطس إلى 7 أيلول/سبتمبر 2001 في ديربان.

The Board also met with representatives of governments, donors, NGOs and individuals, as well as with members of the OHCHR secretariat servicing the Working Group on Contemporary Forms of Slavery, programmes on trafficking and children in armed conflict and the World Conference against Racism, Racial Discrimination, Xenophobia and Related Intolerance.

Reaffirming further the international commitments in the field of social development and to gender equality and the advancement of women made at the International Conference on Population and Development, the World Summit for Social Development and the World Conference against Racism, Racial Discrimination, Xenophobia and Related Intolerance, as well as those made in the United Nations Millennium Declaration and at the 2005 World Summit,

11. The recommendations taken by the UN international conferences on human rights, such as the Vienna World Conference on Human Rights and the World Conference against Racism, Racial Discrimination, Xenophobia and Related Intolerance, have been given the closest of attention.
11- وتُولي بلغاريا أقصى درجات الاهتمام إلى التوصيات المقدمة من المؤتمرات الدولية لحقوق الإنسان التي تنظمها الأمم المتحدة، مثل مؤتمر فيينا العالمي لحقوق الإنسان والمؤتمر العالمي لمكافحة العنصرية والتمييز العنصري وكره الأجانب وما يتصل بذلك من تعصب.

Other new sites include sites for the United Nations Year of Dialogue among Civilizations; the United Nations Conference on the Illicit Trade in Small Arms and Light Weapons in All Its Aspects; the Third United Nations Conference on the Least Developed Countries; and the World Conference against Racism, Racial Discrimination, Xenophobia and Related Intolerance.

Women's human rights concerns were also important in the preparations for the United Nations Conference on the Illicit Trade in Small Arms and Light Weapons in All Its Aspects, to be held shortly, and the World Conference against Racism, Racial Discrimination, Xenophobia and Related Intolerance.

In this regard, attention is drawn to the report of the Secretary-General on the implementation of the Programme of Action for the Third Decade to Combat Racism and Racial Discrimination and the World Conference against Racism, Racial Discrimination, Xenophobia and Related Intolerance (A/56/481).

The Board also met with staff members of the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights servicing the Working Group on Contemporary Forms of Slavery, programmes on trafficking and children in armed conflict and the World Conference against Racism, Racial Discrimination, Xenophobia and Related Intolerance, to be held in Johannesburg, South Africa, in August 2001.

8. Also urges the Department of Public Information to produce, in cooperation with the Office of the High Commissioner, information material, in particular audio-visual material, on all aspects of human rights in connection with the World Public Information Campaign on Human Rights, the United Nations Decade for Human Rights Education and the World Conference against Racism, Racial Discrimination, Xenophobia and Related Intolerance;
8- تحث أيضاً إدارة شؤون الإعلام على إنتاج مواد إعلامية بالتعاون مع المفوضية السامية، وبخاصة مواد سمعية - بصرية، بشأن كافة جوانب حقوق الإنسان، تتصل بالحملة الإعلامية العالمية بشأن حقوق الإنسان وعقد الأمم المتحدة للتثقيف في مجال حقوق الإنسان، والمؤتمر العالمي لمكافحة العنصرية والتمييز العنصري وكره الأجانب وما يتصل بذلك من تعصب؛

8. Carry out periodic assessments of the impact of training on reducing cases of illtreatment related to racial discrimination, in accordance with the recommendations in the declarations and programmes of action adopted at the Regional Conference of the Americas, held in Santiago, and the World Conference against Racism, Racial Discrimination, Xenophobia and Related Intolerance, held in Durban.

Participants discussed independence, pluralism and the effectiveness of national institutions; the fight against child exploitation and trafficking; reinforcing cooperation between national institutions, the Office of the High Commissioner and non-governmental organizations; human rights, development and HIV/AIDS; and the World Conference against Racism, Racial Discrimination, Xenophobia and Related Intolerance.
