Mr. HE Yafei (China) said that he fully agreed with the statements made by the Acting Chairman of the Committee of 24 and the representatives of Colombia, Cuba, Iran and other countries. He opposed any postponement of consideration of the item, since that would run counter to the interests and wishes of the peoples of the Non-Self-Governing Territories and would paralyse the work of the Special Committee on Decolonization.
