With regard to the communication from Costa Rica dated 15 July 2013, he noted that it invoked paragraph 5 (a) of annex I to the rules of procedure of the Commission, but that Costa Rica had never claimed continental shelf beyond 200 nautical miles from its coast in the Caribbean Sea, and that its reliance on paragraph 5 (a) of annex I to the rules of procedure was not justified.
