In the meantime, the report of the Secretary-General on the impact of approved savings measures gave a broad overview of the results of the budget reductions imposed by the General Assembly.

At its 27th meeting, on 30 June, the Committee considered the report of the Secretary-General on the impact of approved savings measures on the implementation of mandated programmes and activities (A/C.5/51/53).

Finally, she had still not received a clear reply from the Secretariat as to when it intended to issue the programme performance report on the impact of approved savings measures on the implementation of mandated programmes and activities, as stipulated in Part II, paragraph 11, of General Assembly resolution 50/214.

21. Ms. RODRÍGUEZ ABASCAL (Cuba) noting that the programme performance report on the impact of approved savings measures had been requested at the fiftieth and fifty-first sessions of the General Assembly, said that the Secretariat should explain why the document had not been prepared.

Pakistan was of the view that the Fifth Committee should consider during the current session the report on the impact of the approved savings measures on the implementation of mandated programmes and activities (A/C.5/51/53).

As the Fifth Committee was requesting more information, the Controller stated, that without prejudice to the assignment of responsibility for reporting on programme performance, he had requested all programme managers to submit information on the impact of the approved savings measures on the implementation of mandated programmes and activities.
