Welcoming the report of the Joint Inspection Unit (JIU) of the United Nations on the Assessment of the Global Mechanism of the United Nations Convention to Combat Desertification (UNCCD), as requested in decision 3/COP.8,
وإذ يرحب بتقرير وحدة التفتيش المشتركة التابعة للأمم المتحدة بشأن تقييم الآلية العالمية التابعة لاتفاقية الأمم المتحدة لمكافحة التصحر، على النحو المطلوب في المقرر 3/م أ-8،

3. By its decision 6/COP.9 on the follow up to the JIU report on the Assessment of the Global Mechanism of the UNCCD, the Conference of Parties requested:
3- وفي مقرره 6/م أ-9 بشأن متابعة تقرير الوحدة عن تقييم الآلية العالمية لاتفاقية الأمم المتحدة لمكافحة التصحر، طلب مؤتمر الأطراف إلى:

At COP 9 Parties are considering the report of the JIU entitled " Assessment of the Global Mechanism of the United Nations Convention to Combat Desertification " .
وفي الدورة التاسعة لمؤتمر الأطراف يقوم الأطراف بدراسة تقرير وحدة التفتيش المشتركة المعنون " تقييم الآلية العالمية لاتفاقية الأمم المتحدة لمكافحة التصحر " ().

Accordingly, the JIU conducted a review from January to July 2009 entitled " Assessment of the Global Mechanism of the United Nations Convention to Combat Desertification " .
2- وتبعاً لذلك، أجرت وحدة التفتيش المشتركة خلال الفترة من كانون الثاني/يناير 2009 إلى تموز/ يوليه 2009 الاستعراض المعنون " تقييم الآلية العالمية لاتفاقية الأمم المتحدة لمكافحة التصحر " .

15. As mandated by the Conference of the Parties, the Joint Inspection Unit conducted a review entitled " Assessment of the Global Mechanism of the United Nations Convention to Combat Desertification " . This mandate was carried out from January to June 2009.
15 - عملا بالتكليف الصادر عن مؤتمر الأطراف، أجرت وحدة التفتيش المشتركة استعراضا بعنوان ' ' تقييم الآلية العالمية لاتفاقية الأمم المتحدة لمكافحة التصحر`` ونفذت هذه المهمة في الفترة من كانون الثاني/يناير إلى حزيران/يونيه 2009.

The Secretary-General has the honour to transmit to the members of the General Assembly the report of the Joint Inspection Unit entitled " Assessment of the Global Mechanism of the United Nations Convention to Combat Desertification " (JIU/REP/2009/4).
يتشرف الأمين العام بأن يحيل إلى أعضاء الجمعية العامة تقرير وحدة التفتيش المشتركة المعنون " تقييم الآلية العالمية لاتفاقية الأمم المتحدة لمكافحة التصحر " (JIU/REP/2009/4).
