The Conference of the Parties addressed the question of the institutional linkage of the Convention secretariat to the United Nations on the basis of the offer made by the Secretary-General (see A/AC.241/44 and A/AC.241/55) and the related conclusions of the Intergovernmental Negotiating Committee at its ninth and tenth sessions.

The methodology for gathering of information was applied to selected standards and reports and was reported to the Commission accordingly.
