The Commission on Narcotic Drugs, at its reconvened fiftieth session, adopted resolution 50/14, entitled " Budget for the biennium 2008-2009 for the Fund of the United Nations International Drug Control Programme " , in which it approved the projected use of general-purpose funds in the biennium 2008-2009 for the Fund of the United Nations International Drug Control Programme.
2- وقد اعتمدت لجنة المخدرات في دورتها الخمسين المستأنفة القرار 50/14 المعنون " ميزانية صندوق برنامج الأمم المتحدة للمراقبة الدولية للمخدرات لفترة السنتين 2008-2009 " الذي وافقت فيه على الاستخدام المزمع للأموال العامة الغرض في فترة السنتين 2008-2009، المتعلقة بصندوق برنامج الأمم المتحدة للمراقبة الدولية للمخدرات.

The attention of the Economic and Social Council is drawn to the following resolution adopted by the Commission on Narcotic Drugs at its reconvened fiftieth session and to the action taken pursuant to General Assembly resolution 46/185 C of 20 December 1991, in section XVI of which the Assembly authorized the Commission to approve the programme budget for the Fund of the United Nations International Drug Control Programme:

He pointed out that the consolidated budget approved by the Commission on Narcotic Drugs at its reconvened fiftieth session and by the Commission on Crime Prevention and Criminal Justice at its reconvened sixteenth session, in November 2007, had been the first step towards ensuring that the results and result areas identified in the strategy for the period 2008-2011 were measurable and had corresponding indicators of achievement.
وأشار إلى أنّ الميزانية الموحّدة التي وافق عليها في تشرين الثاني/نوفمبر 2007 كل من لجنة المخدرات، في دورتها الخمسين المستأنفة ولجنة منع الجريمة والعدالة الجنائية، في دورتها السادسة عشرة المستأنفة، كانت الخطوة الأولى لضمان أن تكون النتائج ومجالات النتائج المحددة في استراتيجية الفترة 2008-2011 قابلة للقياس ولديها مؤشرات إنجاز مقابلة.

In its resolution 50/13, the Commission agreed with the preliminary indicative estimates for the consolidated budget for the biennium 2008-2009 for the Fund of the United Nations International Drug Control Programme and requested the Executive Director of the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) to submit to it at its reconvened fiftieth session a consolidated budget for the biennium 2008-2009 based on those figures.
ووافقت اللجنة في قرارها 50/13 على التقديرات الأولية الإرشادية للميزانية المدمجة المقترحة لفترة السنتين 2008-2009 لصندوق برنامج الأمم المتحدة للمراقبة الدولية للمخدرات وطلبت إلى المدير التنفيذي لمكتب الأمم المتحدة المعني بالمخدرات والجريمة (المكتب) أن يقدّم إليها في دورتها الخمسين المستأنفة ميزانية مُدمجة لفترة السنتين 2008-2009 استنادا إلى تلك الأرقام.
