6.4 The Committee recalls that the State party has a duty not only to conduct thorough investigations of alleged violations of human rights brought to the attention of its authorities, in particular alleged violations of the right to life, but also to prosecute, try and punish any person assumed to be responsible for such violations.
6-4 وتذكّر اللجنة بأن الدولة الطرف ليست ملزمة بإجراء تحقيقات معمقة فيما تبلغ به سلطاتها من انتهاكات مزعومة لحقوق الإنسان فحسب، لا سيما إذا تعلق الأمر بانتهاكات للحق في الحياة، بل إنها ملزمة أيضاً بملاحقة كل من يُشتبه في أنه مسؤول عن تلك الانتهاكات ومحاكمته ومعاقبته().
