1. On 9 December 1992, the General Assembly adopted resolution 47/54 B entitled " Guidelines and recommendations for objective information on military matters " , the operative part of which reads, inter alia, as follows:

1. At its 78th plenary meeting, on 19 December 1997, the General Assembly adopted resolution 52/12 B, entitled " Renewing the United Nations: a programme for reform " .

Part III, section B, entitled " Programmatic and budgetary considerations " was very general and preliminary in nature although it was precisely in that area that Member States were entitled to expect specific and precise proposals and recommendations.
ويتسم الفرع باء المعنون " الاعتبارات البرنامجية والمتعلقة بالميزانية " ، من الجزء الثالث من التقرير، بدرجة عالية من العمومية والطابع الأولي رغم أن من حق الدول اﻷعضاء أن تنتظر تقديم مقترحات وتوصيات محددة ودقيقة في هذا المجال بالذات.

67. The Committee decided by consensus to adopt draft resolution A, entitled “Information in the service of humanity”, as contained in document A/AC.198/1997/L.2 and draft resolution B, entitled “United Nations public information policies and activities”, contained in document A/AC.198/1997/L.3.
٧٦ - وقررت اللجنة بتوافق اﻵراء اعتماد مشروع القرار ألف المعنون " اﻹعلام في خدمة اﻹنسانية " ، على نحو ما ورد في الوثيقة A/AC.198/1997/L.2 ومشروع القرار باء المعنون " سياسات اﻷمم المتحدة وأنشطتها اﻹعلامية " المتضمن في الوثيقة A/AC.198/1997/L.30.

1. On 10 December 1996, the General Assembly adopted, without a vote, resolution 51/46 B, entitled “United Nations Regional Centre for Peace and Disarmament in Asia and the Pacific”.
١ - في ١٠ كانون اﻷول/ديسمبر ١٩٩٦ اتخذت الجمعية العامة، دون تصويت، القرار ٥١/٤٦ باء المعنون " مركز اﻷمم المتحدة اﻹقليمي للسلم ونزع السلاح في آسيا والمحيط الهادئ " .

1. In paragraph 6 of its resolution 53/78 B, entitled “United Nations Regional Centre for Peace and Disarmament in Asia and the Pacific”, the General Assembly requested the Secretary-General to report to it at its fifty-fourth session on the implementation of the resolution.

66. The Committee decided by consensus to adopt draft resolution A, entitled “Information in the service of humanity”, as contained in document A/AC.198/1997/L.2, and draft resolution B, entitled “United Nations public information policies and activities”, contained in document A/AC.198/1997/L.3.

1. The present report has been prepared in response to General Assembly resolution 57/270 B, entitled " Integrated and coordinated implementation of and follow-up to the outcomes of the major United Nations conferences and summits in the economic and social fields " , adopted on 23 June 2003.
1 - أُعِدَّ هذا التقرير استجابة لقرار الجمعية العامة 57/270 باء المعنون " التنفيذ والمتابعة المتكاملان والمنسقان لنتائج المؤتمرات الرئيسية ومؤتمرات القمة التي تعقدها الأمم المتحدة في المجالين الاقتصادي والاجتماعي " المعتمد في 23 حزيران/يونيه 2003.

At its resumed forty-seventh session, in September 1993, the General Assembly adopted resolution 47/120 B entitled " An Agenda for Peace " , section IV of which dealt with special economic problems arising from the implementation of preventive or enforcement measures.

Draft resolution B, entitled, " United Nations public information policies and activities " , would have the Assembly adopt recommendations under the headings of general activities of the Department of Public Information, strategic communications services, news services, library services, and outreach services.
