ولكن حكام اسرائيل ما زالوا يتنكرون لهذه الحقيقة ويتخذون من مقولة حفظ اﻷمن الاسرائيلي تبريرا لمماطلتهم في تنفيذ قرارات الشرعية الدولية والالتزام بالتسوية على أساس مبدأ اﻷرض مقابل السلام.

Mutual security requirements between the Arabs and Israelis on both sides of the border are of prime importance. The legitimacy of such requirements justifies negotiations on the basis of the principle of land for peace. Israel must feel secure and comfortable about the general Arab attitude towards peace.
إن المتطلبات اﻷمنية التبادلية اﻹسرائيلية والعربية، على جوانب الحدود المشتركة، أمر بالغ اﻷهمية وله من المشروعية ما يبرر سرعة المفاوضات على أساس مبدأ اﻷرض مقابــل الســلام، وإن إسرائيل يجب أن تشعر بالطمأنينة من الموقف العربي العام.

The Middle East issue should be solved in a fair and comprehensive manner on the basis of the principle of land for peace and the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people. Their right to establish an independent State should be restored, and Israel should withdraw from all the occupied Arab lands.
إن مسألة الشرق اﻷوسط ينبغي حسمها بطريقة منصفة وشاملة على أساس مبدأ اﻷرض مقابل السلام والحقوق المشروعة للشعب الفلسطيني وينبغي استعادة حقه في أقامة دولة مستقلة، وينبغي لاسرائيل أن تنسحب من جميع اﻷراضي العربية المحتلة.

The only possible way forward is to advance through negotiation on the basis of the principle of “land for peace”, Security Council resolutions 242 (1967) and 338 (1973), as well as resolution 425 (1978), which deals with Lebanon.

It has been our consistent position that the long-awaited peace in the region can be attained only through the full implementation of all relevant General Assembly and Security Council resolutions, particularly Security Council resolutions 242 (1967), 338 (1973) and 425 (1978), and on the basis of the principle of land for peace.
