وكما يتبين من نص القرار، فإن مجلس الأمن قد قرر الاستجابة لطلب الرئيسة بيلاي السماح للقاضي ماكوتو، بعد الاستعاضة عن عضويته في المحكمة، بأن ينهي قضية بوتاري التي شرع فيها قبل انتهاء فترة ولايته.

يؤيد توصية اﻷمين العام بأن يقوم القاضي أسبغرين، فور استبداله كعضو في المحكمة، بإنجاز قضيتي روتاغاندا و موسيما اللتين بدأ بهما قبل انتهاء فترة ولايته؛ و يحيط علما بنية المحكمة إنجــاز هاتين القضيتين قبل ٣١ كانون الثاني/يناير ٢٠٠٠ إذا أمكن.

" (هـ) أن يشرع القاضي سزناسي، في حالة تعيينه للعمل في المحكمة الدولية للنظر في قضية هاليلوفيتش، وبمجرد استبداله كقاض مخصص من قضاة المحكمة الدولية، في إتمام النظر في تلك القضية التي سيكون قد بدأ النظر فيها قبل انتهاء فترة خدمته؛

" (f) Judge Hanoteau, if appointed to serve in the International Tribunal for the trial of the Krajišnik case, proceed, once replaced as an ad litem judge of the International Tribunal, to finish that case, which he would have begun before expiry of his term of office;
