ويطلب مشروع القرار إلى الأمين العام أن يواصل تقديم الدعم اللازم للمركز الإقليمي من أجل تحقيق إنجازات ونتائج أفضل.

Under the terms of operative paragraphs 6 and 7 of draft resolution A/c.1/63/L.50/Rev.1*, the General Assembly would request the Secretary-General to facilitate closer cooperation between the Regional Centre and the African Union, in particular in the areas of peace, security and development, and to continue to provide the necessary support to the Regional Centre for better achievements and results.

In its resolution 51/46 E of 10 December 1996, the General Assembly, inter alia, requested the Secretary-General, " in the light of the current financial situation of the Regional Centre, to intensify his efforts in exploring new ways and means of funding, and to continue to provide all necessary support to the Regional Centre for better achievements and results " .
٩ - وكانت الجمعية العامة قد طلبت إلى اﻷمين العام، في جملـة أمور، في قرارها ٥١/٤٦ هاء المؤرخ ١٠ كانون اﻷول/ ديسمبر ١٩٩٦، أن يقـوم " في ضوء الحالة المالية الراهنة للمركز اﻹقليمي بتكثيف ما يبذله من جهود لاستكشاف السبل والوسائل البديلة للتمويل وأن يواصل تقديم كل ما يلزم من دعم إلى المركز اﻹقليمي من أجل تحقيق إنجازات ونتائج أفضل " .
