27. The Commission could note the impact throughout the world of the El Niño Southern Oscillation (ENSO), one of the clearest examples of a linkage between oceans and the atmosphere, and its social and economic consequences, particularly for developing countries.
٢٧ - ويمكن للجنة أن تلاحظ أثر التذبذب الجنوبي لتيار النينيو في أنحاء العالم، وهو أحد أكثر اﻷمثلة وضوحا على الصلة بين المحيطات والغلاف الجــوي، ونتائجه الاجتماعية والاقتصادية، ولا سيمـا بالنسبــة للبلدان النامية.

For those reasons, the Pacific SIDS have strongly advocated that the upcoming United Nations Conference on Sustainable Development (Rio+20) negotiations must direct greater political will towards ensuring the well-being of oceans and fisheries, and to the strengthening of the nexus between oceans and sustainable development.
ولتلك الأسباب فإن الدول الجزرية الصغيرة النامية في منطقة المحيط الهادئ قد أيدت بقوة حتمية اتسام مفاوضــات مؤتمـــر الأمم المتحــدة المقبل للتنمية المستدامة (ريو+20) بدرجة أكبر من الإرادة السياسية من أجل ضمان صحة المحيطات ومصائد الأسماك وتعزيز الرابطة بين المحيطات والتنمية المستدامة.

The Conference will also be a forum to enhance better understanding of the link between oceans and climate change and the impact of climate change on marine ecosystems and coastal communities, thus promoting the urgency of mainstreaming climate sensitive policies and enhancing adaptation capacity at all levels, especially among developing countries and small island developing States.
