Furthermore, by decision 17/CP.4, paragraph 13, the COP took note of the cooperation between the Convention secretariat and the secretariats of the United Nations Convention to Combat Desertification (UNCCD) and the Convention on Biological Diversity, and invited the Executive Secretary to consult with the heads of the secretariats of those Conventions and report to the SBI at its eleventh session.

In its resolution 61/202, the General Assembly requested the Secretary-General, taking into account the institutional linkage and related administrative arrangements between the Convention secretariat and the United Nations Secretariat, to facilitate the implementation of decision 23 of the seventh session of the Conference of the Parties pertaining to the introduction of the euro as the budget and accounting currency of the Convention.
