The thematic dialogue aimed to identify possible linkages between the Technology Mechanism and the Financial Mechanism and was organized as part of the 9th meeting of the TEC, held on 19 August 2014 in Bonn.

6. The value proposition paper and the outcomes of the thematic dialogue were taken into account by the TEC in preparing its recommendations on the linkages between the Technology Mechanism and the Financial Mechanism.

9. In drafting the recommendations on the linkages between the Technology Mechanism and the Financial Mechanism, the TEC drew upon:
9- واستندت اللجنة التنفيذية المعنية بالتكنولوجيا، لدى صياغة توصياتها بشأن الروابط بين آلية التكنولوجيا والآلية المالية للاتفاقية، إلى ما يلي:

(c) Existing institutional linkages between the Technology Mechanism and the Financial Mechanism;

These include TEC recommendations to COP 20 on linkages between the Technology Mechanism and the Financial Mechanism of the Convention that would help promote coherence and effectiveness of support for climate action.

6. The COP further agreed on the work programme on technology development and transfer for the Ad Hoc Working on Long-term Cooperative Action under the Convention (AWG-LCA) in 2011, which includes continued deliberations among Parties on the relationship between the TEC and the CTCN and their reporting lines, and the potential links between the Technology Mechanism and the financial mechanism.
