This initiative is intended to strengthen dialogue and promote contact between the Territories, UNDP and the rest of the United Nations system.
وترمي هذه المبادرة إلى تعزيز الحوار وتشجيع الاتصال بين اﻷقاليم وبرنامج اﻷمم المتحدة اﻹنمائي وبقية منظومة اﻷمم المتحدة.

Local changes may be needed to make the partnership work fully, and to improve the dialogue between the Territories and the United Kingdom.

The Court then examined the issue of whether the United States, in destroying the platforms, had impeded their normal operation, thus preventing Iran from enjoying freedom of commerce " between the Territories of the two High Contracting Parties " as guaranteed by Article X, paragraph 1, of the 1955 Treaty.

In that connection, Iran referred in particular to articles I and X(1) of the Treaty, which provide, respectively: " There shall be firm and enduring peace and sincere friendship between the United States of America and Iran " , and " between the Territories of the two High Contracting Parties there shall be freedom of commerce and navigation. "
وفي هذا الصدد، أشارت جمهورية ايران الاسلامية بشكل خاص الى المادتين اﻷولى والعاشرة )١( من تلك المعاهدة، اللتين تنصان، على التوالي، على ما يلي: " يكون بين الولايات المتحدة الامريكية وايــران سلم راسخ ودائــم وصداقة مخلصة " و " تكون بين اقليمي الطرفين المتعاقدين الساميين حرية تجارة وملاحة " .

2.17 We were also asked by leaders of the Overseas Territories whether closer links might be possible between the Territories and the Commonwealth.
٢-١٧ كما استفسر منا قادة أقاليم ما وراء البحار عن إمكانية إقامة روابط أوثق بين اﻷقاليم والكمنولث.

Urges the administering Powers to foster or continue to foster close relations between the Territories and other island communities in their respective regions, and to promote cooperation between the respective territorial Governments and regional institutions, as well as the specialized agencies and other organizations of the United Nations system;

15. Resident representatives from the four UNDP Caribbean offices have initiated, in collaboration with the Governments, the establishment of United Nations focal points to strengthen dialogue and promote contact between the Territories, UNDP and the rest of the United Nations system.
١٥ - وقد بادر الممثلون المقيمون لبرنامج اﻷمم المتحدة اﻹنمائي في المكاتب اﻷربعة في منطقة البحر الكاريبي بإنشاء مراكز تنسيق لﻷمم المتحدة لتعزيز الحوار وتشجيع الاتصال بين اﻷقاليم وبرنامج اﻷمم المتحدة اﻹنمائي وبقية منظومة اﻷمم المتحدة.

In regard to the United States counterclaim, the Court found that, according to the evidence before it, there was not, at the relevant time, any actual impediment to commerce or navigation between the Territories of the parties by incidents attributed by the United States to Iran, and accordingly rejected also the United States counterclaim for reparation.

The objectives of both agreements include the elimination of barriers to trade in, and facilitation of, the cross-border movement of goods and services between the Territories of the parties as well as the promotion of conditions of fair competition in the respective free trade areas.
وتتضمن أهداف كلا الاتفاقين إزالة الحواجز التي تعترض التجارة في معرض حركة السلع والخدمات عبر الحدود بين أقاليم الأطراف، وتسهيل هذه الحركة، وكذلك النهوض بأوضاع المنافسة النزيهة في كل من منطقتي التجارة الحرة.
