6. During the period under review, the United Nations and OIC continued their consultations on political matters, especially those concerning ongoing peacemaking efforts, which have become a new and very important dimension in the cooperation between the United Nations and OIC.
٦ - وأثناء الفترة قيد الاستعراض، واصلت اﻷمم المتحدة ومنظمة المؤتمر اﻹسلامي مشاوراتهما بشأن المسائل السياسية، وخاصة ما يتعلق منها بجهود صنع السلام الجارية، التي أصبحت بعدا جديدا وهاما جدا في التعاون بين اﻷمم المتحدة ومنظمة المؤتمر اﻹسلامي.

As a follow-up to the last general meeting between the United Nations and OIC in Geneva (13-15 July 1998), cooperation between UNFPA and OIC was strengthened by the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding on 2 October 1998 by Azeddine Laraki, Secretary-General of OIC, and Nafis Sadik, Executive Director of UNFPA.

116. The biennial general meeting on cooperation between the United Nations and OIC was hosted by OIC in Istanbul in May 2014.

In response to General Assembly resolution 49/15, a high-level meeting was held between senior officials of the secretariats of the two Organizations in October 1995 to discuss ways to strengthen cooperation between the United Nations and OIC in the political field, and it was agreed that consultations on defining the mechanisms of such cooperation would continue.
واستجابة لقرار الجمعية العامة ٤٩/١٥ فقد عقد اجتماع رفيع المستوى بين كبار موظفي أمانتي المنظمتين في تشرين اﻷول/ أكتوبر ١٩٩٥ لمناقشة سبل تعزيز التعاون بين اﻷمم المتحدة ومنظمة المؤتمر الاسلامي في المجال السياسي واتفق على مواصلة التشاور بشأن تحديد آليات ذلك التعاون.
