5. Welcomes the decision of the Conference of the Parties on the promotion and strengthening of relationships between the United Nations Convention to Combat Desertification and other relevant conventions and international organizations, institutions and agencies;

It was also pointed out that there were complementarities between the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea and the Convention on Biological Diversity, as both instruments emphasized the fair and equitable distribution of benefits from the resources, and therefore commercially oriented activities in the Area regarding biological diversity should be subject to those legal frameworks.
وجرت الإشارة أيضا إلى وجود أوجه تكامل فيما بين اتفاقية الأمم المتحدة لقانون البحار واتفاقية التنوع البيولوجي، إذ أن الصكين كليهما يشددان على التوزيع العادل والمنصف للمنافع المستقاة من هذه الموارد وبالتالي ينبغي أن تخضع الأنشطة ذات التوجه التجاري في المنطقة والمتعلقة بالتنوع البيولوجي لهذين الإطارين القانونيين.

Recalling its decisions 6/COP.6 and 6/COP.7 on collaboration with the Global Environment Facility (GEF), by which it adopted the memorandum of understanding (MOU) between the United Nations Convention to Combat Desertification (UNCCD) and the GEF on enhanced collaboration,

13. With regard to recommendation 4, paragraph (a), it was agreed that it should be revised to reflect the understanding reached with respect to the relationship between the United Nations Convention on the Assignment of Receivables in International Trade (the " United Nations Assignment Convention " ) and the Convention on International Interests in Mobile Equipment (Cape Town, 2001).
