The population concerned is said to number around 250,000, including 48,000 children under five.
٣٧ - يعاني سكان انتاناناريفو النازحون ومنكوبو تاماتاف وسكان مقاطعة بريكافيل التي أغرقتها مياه الفيضانات من تدهور نوعية المياه، لا سيما من جراء التلوث بالغائط، تدهورا ينذر بالخطر مما يخشى معه تزايد الاصابة بأمراض الاسهال وبخاصة بين اﻷطفال وكذلك مخاطر تفشي اﻷوبئة، ويبلغ عدد السكان المعنيين ٠٠٠ ٢٥٠ شخص من بينهم ٠٠٠ ٤٨ طفل دون سن الخامسة.

63. Through its efforts, this committee made it possible to provide the residents of one Brickaville district, which suffered the worst damage, with substantial aid in the form of food, medicines and potable water and to prevent epidemics, mainly among children; this was due, in particular, to CARE International, which undertook to cover the nutritional needs of the Brickaville region by setting up two general distribution programmes.
٦٣ - وبفضل عمل اللجنة المذكورة أمكن إمداد سكان منطقة بريكافيل التي تعد أشد المناطق تضررا، بمعونة غوثية ضخمة شملت مواد غذائية وأدوية ومياه الشرب، وتسنى الوقاية من تفشي اﻷوبئة لا سيما بين اﻷطفال مما يرجع الفضل فيه بوجه خاص إلى منظمة " كير " الدولية التي التزمت بتلبية الاحتياجات الغذائية لمنطقة بريكافيل من خلال برنامجين للتوزيع.
