As seen in paragraph 6 above, UNCTAD X, in its Plan of Action, paragraph 141, calls upon UNCTAD, in cooperation with other relevant organizations, to strengthen the capacity of public institutions for competition and consumer protection in developing countries, and to help them to educate the public and representatives of the private sector in this field.

1. UNCTAD X requested UNCTAD to " strengthen the capacity of public institutions for competition and consumer protection in developing countries and help them to educate the public and representatives of the private sector in this field " (Plan of Action, para. No.141).
