By adopting resolution ES-10/15 on 20 July 2004, by an overwhelming majority, the General Assembly demanded that Israel cease its construction of the wall in the occupied Palestinian territory, including in and around East Jerusalem, and called for a return to the situation prevailing prior to construction, given that the construction did not follow the 1949 Armistice Line and violated the relevant provisions of international law.
