Notes the importance of meetings of regional and other major groupings of Member States for the smooth functioning of sessional bodies, in view of the increased requests for meetings of regional and other major groups, and welcomes the fact that 81 per cent of the requests for such meetings were met;

In view of the importance of such meetings for the smooth functioning of sessional bodies, the Committee had expressed concern that 32 per cent of the requests for interpretation services for such meetings had been denied.
فنظرا ﻷهمية هذه الاجتماعات في تيسير عمل الهيئات المجتمعة في دوراتها، أعربت اللجنة عن قلقها لعدم الاستجابة لنسبة ٣٢ في المائة من طلبات توفير خدمات الترجمة الشفوية.

31. The Committee congratulated and thanked the members of the Secretariat for the fact that 83 per cent of the requests for interpretation services for meetings of regional and other major groupings of Member States had been met. Support was expressed for the technique of over-programming in order to meet those requests.
٣١ - أعربت اللجنة عن تهنئتها وشكرها ﻷعضاء اﻷمانة العامة نظرا ﻷنه تم تلبية نسبة ٨٠ في المائة من طلبات توفير خدمات الترجمة الشفوية لاجتماعات مجموعات الدول اﻷعضاء اﻹقليمية وغيرها من المجموعات الرئيسية، كما جرى اﻹعراب لتأييد أسلوب زيادة البرمجة بغرض تلبية تلك الطلبات.

35. While recognizing that meetings of Charter and mandated bodies must be serviced as a priority, the Committee regretted that 17 per cent of the requests for interpretation services made by regional and other major groupings of Member States had not been met.
٣٥ - وفي حين أقرت اللجنة بوجوب إيلاء أولوية لخدمة اجتماعات الهيئات المنصوص عليها في الميثاق والهيئات ذات الولايات، فإنها أعربت عن أسفها ﻷنه لم يتم تلبية ١٧ في المائة من طلبات توفير خدمات الترجمة الشفوية المقدمة من مجموعات الدول اﻷعضاء اﻹقليمية وغيرها من المجموعات الرئيسية.

For the first time, Geneva is reporting this category of meetings in 2009 (see annex IV, table 1); 95 per cent of the requests for interpretation services were met (see annex IV, table 2).

34. In view of the importance of meetings of regional and other major groupings of Member States for the smooth functioning of sessional bodies, and in view of the significant increase in the requests for such meetings, the Committee welcomed the fact that 83 per cent of the requests for interpretation services had been met while 100 per cent of the requests for facilities only had been met.
٣٤ - ونظرا ﻷهمية اجتماعات مجموعات الدول اﻷعضاء اﻹقليمية وغيرها من المجموعات الرئيسية بالنسبة لسير أعمال الهيئات المنعقدة خلال الدورة بلا عوائق، وفي ضوء تعاظم الزيادة في الطلبات الخاصة بهذه الاجتماعات، رحبت اللجنة بتلبية ٨٣ في المائة من طلبات خدمات الترجمة الشفوية مع تلبية ١٠٠ في المائة من طلبات توفير المرافق فقط.

30. In addition, in paragraph 10, the Assembly regretted that 17 per cent of the requests for interpretation services made by regional and other major groupings of Member States had not been met, while recognizing that meetings of Charter and mandated bodies must be serviced as a priority.
