442. Antoinette Yusuf Chahin was reportedly arrested and detained on 9 June 1994 on the alleged accusation that she was involved in the murder of Father Sam’am Boutros al-Khoury on 11 May 1994 in Ajeltoun.

An excerpt from the Syrian family registry provided to the Swedish Embassy in 1996 contains information about a family called Chahin, registered as 773/Malkie, and consisting of two parents and 10 children, including one Anton Chahin born in 1968.
ويتضمن مقتطف من السجل العائلي السوري، قُدم إلى السفارة السويدية في سنة 1996، معلومات عن أسرة تسمى شاهين، مسجلة برقم 773/مالكية، وتتألف من والدين و10 أبناء، بمن فيهم أنطون شاهين المولود في سنة 1968.

15. Ms. Chahin (Chile) said that her delegation had a special interest in section II B of the draft report, concerning safe transport of radioactive materials.

On 30 September 2011, the complainant's counsel explained that the present legal procedure of the complainant differs from ordinary asylum cases, because in 1991 Mr. Chahin had been found guilty and sentenced for manslaughter by the Norrköppings Tingsrätt (district court), combined with a decision of expulsion and life-long prohibition to return to Sweden.
وفي 30 أيلول/سبتمبر 2011، بيّن محامي صاحب الشكوى أن الإجراء القانوني الذي باشره صاحب الشكوى في هذه القضية يختلف عن قضايا اللجوء العادية، ذلك أن السيد شاهين قد أُدين في عام 1991 بالقتل دون سبق الإصرار من قبل محكمة منطقة نوركوبينغس وصدر بحقه قرار بالطرد وبالمنع من العودة إلى السويد مدى الحياة.

His sister Georgette Chahin, his niece Carolin Chamoun, his nephew Josef Chamoun and his uncle Walid Chahin, all Swedish nationals and/or residents, were also interrogated by the security service about his whereabouts during visits to the Syrian Arab Republic between 2003 and 2007.
كما استجوبت دائرة الأمن أخته جورجيت شاهين وابنة أخته كارولين شامون وابن أخته جوزيف شامون وعمه وليد شاهين، وجميعهم رعايا سويديون و/أو مقيمون في السويد، بشأن الأماكن التي كان فيها خلال زياراته إلى الجمهورية العربية السورية بين سنتي 2003 و2007.

Ms. Chahin (Chile), speaking on behalf of the Community of Latin American and Caribbean States (CELAC), said that said that the signing and ratification of the Convention on the Rights of the Child and its Optional Protocols should be a priority; that would help to ensure that all children fully enjoyed their human rights and fundamental freedoms.

102. Complaint No. 310/2007 (Chahin v. Sweden) concerned a Syrian national claiming that his deportation to the Syrian Arab Republic in 1997 in execution of a judgment convicting him of manslaughter violated article 3 of the Convention because he was subsequently tortured.
102- وكان البلاغ رقم 310/2007 (شاهين ضد السويد) يتعلق بمواطن سوري يدعي أن ترحيله إلى الجمهورية العربية السورية في عام 1997 تنفيذا لحكم أدين بمقتضاه بتهمة القتل الخطأ يشكل انتهاكاً للمادة 3 من الاتفاقية لأن ترحيله هذا أدى إلى تعذيبه.
