Based on consultations with various stakeholders, the study examines the challenges and best practices in implementing the international framework for the protection of the rights of the child in the context of migration.

The present report is submitted pursuant to Human Rights Council resolution 12/6, in which the Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR) was requested to prepare a study on challenges and best practices in the implementation of the international framework for the protection of the rights of the child in the context of migration, in consultation with relevant stakeholders.

According to the Committee on the Rights of the Child, and reiterated by OHCHR in its study on challenges and best practices in the implementation of the international framework for the protection of the rights of the child in the context of migration (A/HRC/15/29, para. 44), age assessment should be a measure of last resort.
