The objective of such a global monitoring programme would be to " provide a harmonized organisationizational framework for the collection and assessment of comparable monitoring data on the presence of the chemicals listed in Annexes A, B and C of the Stockholm Convention in order to identify temporal and, as appropriate, spatial trends as well as to provide information on their regional and global environmental transport " .
