Further to Conference of the Parties decision IX/28, in which the Conference recognized the need to engage cities and local authorities in the implementation of the Convention, the second Curitiba Meeting on cities and biodiversity was convened in January 2010 with a view to developing a multi-year plan of action on cities, local authorities and biodiversity.
