1. It is prohibited in all circumstances to make the civilian population as such, individual civilians or civilian objects the object of attack.
1- يُحظر في جميع الأحوال استهداف السكان والأفراد المدنيين أو الأعيان المدنية.

This rule requires both sides to take specific action to reduce the chance that civilians or civilian objects would be mistakenly attacked and to minimize civilian casualties when an attack is launched.
وتستلزم هذه القاعدة من كلا الجانبين اتخاذ إجراءات محددة للتقليل من احتمالات تعرض المدنيين أو الأعيان المدنية لهجوم مِـن طريق الخطـأ والتقليل إلى أدنى حد من الإصابات بين المدنيين لدى شن هجوم.

5. No provision of this Article may be construed as authorizing any attacks against the civilian population, civilians or civilian objects. Article 58 -- Precautions against the effects of attacks

`2` ينبغي حظر الهجمات التي تستخدم القصف بالقنابل بأية طريقة أو وسيلة تَعامل، كهدف عسكري واحد، عدداً من الأهداف العسكرية المنفصلة والمميزة عن بعضها البعض بشكل واضح والواقعة في مدينة أو بلدة أو قرية أو منطقة أخرى تضم تركزاً مماثلاً من المدنيين أو الأعيان المدنية.
