20. We recognize commitments made by States, with regard to the United Nations Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples, to consult and cooperate in good faith with the indigenous peoples concerned through their own representative institutions in order to obtain their free and informed consent prior to the approval of any project affecting their lands or territories and other resources.
20 - ونقر بالتزامات قطعتها دول، بصدد إعلان الأمم المتحدة بشأن حقوق الشعوب الأصلية، بأن تتشاور وتتعاون بحسن نية مع الشعوب الأصلية المعنية من خلال المؤسسات التي تمثلها للحصول على موافقتها الحرة والمستنيرة قبل الموافقة على أي مشروع يمس أراضيها أو أقاليمها وغير ذلك من مواردها.

(c) Article 19, which states that States are to consult and cooperate in good faith with the indigenous peoples concerned through their own representative institutions in order to obtain their free, prior and informed consent before adopting and implementing legislative or administrative measures that may affect them.

Article 32 (2) requires States to " consult and cooperate in good faith with the indigenous peoples concerned through their own representative institutions in order to obtain their free and informed consent prior to the approval of any project affecting their lands or territories and other resources, particularly in connection with the development, utilization or exploitation of mineral, water or other resources " .

22. One of the basic articles in the United Nations Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples stipulates that States " shall consult and cooperate in good faith with the indigenous peoples concerned through their own representative institutions in order to obtain their free, prior and informed consent before adopting and implementing legislative or administrative measures that may affect them " (art. 19).
