As to contemporary forms of racism and racial discrimination, xenophobia and related intolerance, emphasis is placed on the resurgence of racism, racial discrimination and xenophobia in various parts of the world, affecting migrants and refugees in particular.

The Conference will be action—oriented and focus on practical measures to eradicate racism, including measures of prevention, education and protection and the provision of effective remedies; it will in particular endeavour to increase the effectiveness of United Nations programmes aimed at combating contemporary forms of racism and racial discrimination.

Urges all Governments to cooperate fully with the Special Rapporteur with a view to enabling him to fulfil his mandate, including the examination of incidents of contemporary forms of racism and racial discrimination, xenophobia and related intolerance inter alia, against Africans and people of African descent, Arabs, Muslims and Jews;

The present report is submitted in response to General Assembly resolution 56/267, entitled " Measures to combat contemporary forms of racism and racial discrimination, xenophobia and related intolerance " .

1. In its resolution 55/83 entitled " Measures to combat contemporary forms of racism and racial discrimination, xenophobia and related intolerance " , the General Assembly requested the Special Rapporteur to submit an interim report to the General Assembly at its fifty-sixth session.
1 - طلبت الجمعية العامة في قرارها 55/83 المعنون " تدابير مكافحة الأشكال المعاصرة للعنصرية والتمييز العنصري وكراهية الأجانب وما يتصل بذلك من تعصب " ، إلى المقرر الخاص أن يقدم إليها تقريرا مؤقتا في دورتها السادسة والخمسين.

Recalling further its resolutions 56/265 and 56/267 of 27 March 2002, on the Third Decade to Combat Racism and Racial Discrimination and on measures to combat contemporary forms of racism and racial discrimination, xenophobia and related intolerance,
وإذ تشير كذلك إلى قراريها 56/265 و 56/267 المؤرخين 27 آذار/مارس 2002 بشـأن العقد الثالث لمكافحة العنصرية والتمييز العنصري وبشأن تدابير مكافحة الأشكال المعاصرة للعنصرية والتمييز العنصري وكراهية الأجانب وما يتصل بذلك من تعصب،

" 23. 51. A body might be created to study neo-fascism, neo-Nazism and ethno-nationalism, in close cooperation with the Special Rapporteur on contemporary forms of racism and racial discrimination, xenophobia and related intolerance.
